Platelet Rich Plasma

Platelet rich plasma (PRP) is a portion of the blood processed to contain a higher concentration of platelets. Platelets contain hundreds of proteins called growth factors which help speed up the healing process. Blood is taken from the patient and processed to be platelet rich plasma, it is then carefully injected into the injured area. PRP is the bodies own pain and inflammation reducer. It is used to help treat arthritis, bone fractures, along with surgery to help tissue heal, and many other conditions.
